New Delhi:

BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad today reprimanded Nitish Kumar, alleging that the five-time Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has insulted the mandate by breaking his ties with the BJP for the second time.

He said, because of Narendra Modi, he got the mandate twice in 2019 and 2020, but he broke the alliance with BJP.

Former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters, "We have a question for Nitish Kumar."

He said, "Didn't he win the 2020 election under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi? Did you win the 2019 election on your own? 14 of your people went to the Lok Sabha. You have insulted the mandate of Bihar. How do you do that? can do?"

He said that Nitish Kumar had earlier left the grand alliance with Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal and joined BJP, citing corruption.

He said, "So what happened today? Has corruption ended? So why do you repeatedly insult the mandate of the people of Bihar?"

Prasad asked another question, "If BJP bothered you so much, why did you stay? You could have said goodbye in 2020."

Nitish Kumar today ended the alliance with BJP and staked claim to form a new government with Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal and other parties.

Earlier today BJP sources said the party made no effort to stop Nitish Kumar despite knowing about the impending split.

Sources said, this was because the BJP is convinced that Nitish Kumar has national ambitions and sees it as a better option to lead the opposition in the 2024 general elections.

After expressing his anger for a long time, Nitish Kumar took a decisive step.

In the last few weeks, he skipped several programs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Sources said Nitish Kumar feared that the BJP was trying to divide his Janata Dal United.

In the same way as he split in Shiv Sena and brought down the government of Uddhav Thackeray.
