The Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Transport Hristo Alexiev and the Acting Minister of Regional Development Ivan Shishkov began an inspection of the interconnector with Greece from the Stara Zagora gas measuring station.

The two refused any comments in front of the journalists present, BTA reported. Stara Zagora gas measuring station is the first object of today's planned inspection by the ministers of the interconnector between Bulgaria and Greece.

The faucet of the interconnector is open, Azeri gas is expected to leave Komotini along a 183-kilometer route with a capacity of three billion cubic meters to Stara Zagora.

Since mid-June, the pipes have been filled with test quantities of natural gas.

Teodora Georgieva, the Bulgarian director of the ICBG company, which is licensed as the operator of the gas pipeline, announced a month ago that they are ready to export to Moldova and Ukraine.

Together with her, the Greek representative Georgius Satlas attended the inspection today for the first time.

They will inspect the route in the Bulgarian section of the interconnector with Greece

In the company, half of the shares belong to "Bulgarian Energy Holding" and the Greek-Italian company "Poseidon", in which the Italian "Edison" and the Greek "DEPA" are shareholders.

Later today, the ministers will also visit other sections of the interconnector route.
