The more infectious sub-variants of the coronavirus variant Omicron have been detected in the country's capital Delhi.

According to a top medical official, this new sub-variant of the coronavirus was detected from the samples sent for genome sequencing at Delhi's Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital. -Variant BA 2.75 has been detected.

All this variant of corona has been found in Delhi between Kovid-19 cases and increase in positivity rate.

The medical director said that the number of people admitted to the hospital has also increased.

Dr. Kumar said that this variant of Omicron spreads rapidly and it is more likely to 'escape' from past infection and vaccination.

According to the news agency PTI, Dr. Kumar said, "The report has found Omicron's sub-variant BA 2.75. Its transmission rate is high. This conclusion was revealed in the study report of 90 samples sent for genome sequencing. All these variants also attack people who already have antibodies R who have taken the vaccine. 

Although he said that the severity of infection in new cases is low but there is a risk for the elderly and those with co-morbidities.

In the last 24 hours, 2,445 new cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in Delhi, this number is the highest since 6 February.

The Kovid positivity rate has increased to 15.41 percent today while seven people have died due to corona infection.
