Trade between Turkey and Slovenia in 2021 amounted to 2.3 billion euros.

Our goal is to significantly increase this value, which does not fully reflect our real potential, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today at a joint press conference with Slovenian President Borut Pahor, CNN-Turk Turkish television reported.

This year we celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Slovenia.

We are satisfied with the development of cooperation between us in almost all spheres, especially in economy, trade, industry, science, technology and transport, Erdogan said, stressing, however, that bilateral trade currently does not reflect the true potential of both countries.

Borut Pahor met Erdogan in Ankara

The Turkish president pointed out that Borut Pahor was the first high-ranking representative of an EU member state to visit Turkey since the July 2016 coup attempt.

I want to thank Mr. Pahor once again for his sincere friendship and support for Turkey, the Turkish leader pointed out.

Borut Pahor is on a three-day official visit to Turkey (from August 9 to 11) at the invitation of Erdogan, BTA adds.
