Stepan Dolgikh was sentenced to 18 years in prison after being accused of murdering his wife, just hours after their wedding ceremony, world media reported.

The 35-year-old accused made a full confession before the court in Novosibirsk (Russia).

As a motive for the committed crime, he indicated his suspicions that his wife Oksana Poludentseva (36) was cheating on him.

Dolgih had a previous conviction for murder and actually met his wife while in prison.

According to witnesses, Dolgih began to force his wife already during the wedding celebration, when he saw her talking to one of the guests.

Investigators revealed that he continued to beat her after the two left the house where the party was being held.

A little later they returned again, where Dolgikh had already killed his wife.

Already dead, the man grabbed her body, went out and threw it into a ravine.

The guests were too scared to react and intervene, but immediately reported to the police, who arrived and arrested Stepan Dolgikh on the spot.
