An old picture of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar

Patna:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has resigned from the post.

Now once again the party of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad will run the government in Bihar together.

Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar's relationship has been from student life.

Both the leaders took part in the Bihar student movement.

Soon Lalu Prasad had become very close to JP.

During the Emergency, Nitish Kumar also fought for a long time.

But in the assembly elections of 1977 and 1980, Nitish Kumar could not win the election, while in the Lok Sabha elections of 1977, Lalu Prasad became an MP.

The relationship between both the leaders continued to flourish till the year 1990.

During this, it is said that Nitish Kumar played an important role in making Lalu Prasad the Chief Minister.

But by the year 1993, the relationship between Nitish and Lalu started deteriorating and Nitish Kumar rebelled against Lalu Prasad through Kurmi Chetna Maharally in 1994 in Patna, Bihar.

Later Nitish Kumar formed a separate party and after nearly a decade, Rabri Devi became the Chief Minister of Bihar with the support of BJP.

In the year 2013, when Narendra Modi was made the PM candidate by BJP, Lalu and Nitish once again came closer and in the year 2014, Lalu Prasad announced his support to Nitish Kumar's government.

In the 2015 assembly elections, the alliance of Nitish and Lalu Prasad got a big victory.

But in the year 2017, Nitish once again distanced himself after allegations of corruption on the Lalu family.

After which the relationship of both the leaders deteriorated again.

After the assembly elections of the year 2020, the relationship between the two leaders started improving once again and on 9 August 2022, Nitish Kumar broke the ties with the NDA and once again formed an alliance with Lalu Prasad's party.
