Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi, together with the governor of Astara and the representative of this city's population in the parliament, got acquainted with the latest status of the project of the national and international railway terminal in Astara, as well as the bridge being built over Astarachay.

According to APA's Tehran office, Seyyid Abbas Mousavi emphasized the importance of joint projects with Azerbaijan and said that Astara is one of the important points of the "North-South" International Transport Corridor.

"The completion of these works will further increase the regional and international importance of the project.

Ministers of the two countries will soon meet to review the latest status of these projects and other transit issues.

The Iranian ambassador also informed about a tripartite meeting between Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia in the near future to review transit and customs issues and diversify the routes of the North-South Global Corridor.
