"Explosions rocked a Russian military base in the Ukrainian Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was occupied in 2014," the Crimean Telegraph news channel reported.

The explosions took place today in the village of Novofeodorovka (in the western part of the peninsula) on the territory of a unit used by the Moscow Air Force.

The Russian planes take off from there and bomb the nearby Kherson and Odesa regions," added the media.

Witnesses said they heard at least ten explosions.

"Windows were broken and nearby buildings were swaying," witnesses said.

"Local residents said that they did not notice any planes or missiles flying over the military airport. The explosions caused interruptions in telephone connections. Several ambulances were sent to the village from the nearby town of Saki," added the media, citing eyewitnesses.
