President Trump's former emissary for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, has announced that he had a telephone conversation with former president Hashim Thaçi, who is in The Hague.

Grenell, through his Twitter account, has said that if Thaçi were president, the people of Kosovo would be at peace.

According to him, with Thaci at the head of the Presidency, Kosovo would have greater economic cooperation.

He also said that there would be more jobs.

"I just talked with Hashim Thaçi, who is in The Hague.

I am convinced that the people of Kosovo would be at peace if he were still President.

They would also have greater economic cooperation with their neighbors - and more jobs for their children if Thaci were to return," Grenell wrote.

The former American ambassador in Berlin has continuously criticized the current Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Last week, commenting on the decisions of the Government of Kosovo regarding reciprocity with Serbia, Prime Minister Kurti called him an "experienced fascist".

Meanwhile, he requested the return of Thaçi from The Hague./Telegrafi.

I just spoke with @HashimThaciRKS from prison in The Hague.

I am confident that the people of Kosovo would be at peace if he were still President.

They would also have greater economic cooperation with their neighbors - and more jobs for their children if Thaci were back.
