New Delhi:

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will unfurl the national flag at 150 monuments across the country as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to mark 75 years of independence.

According to the Ministry of Culture, along with hoisting the flag at these monuments, it will also be decorated with tricolor lights.

Cleanliness drive will be conducted in 750 monuments across the country and free entry has been announced in all centrally protected monuments across the country from August 5 to August 15.

The 37 circles of ASI will organize several programs involving the local people as a symbol of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

These events include tree plantation drives, school dialogues, lectures, medical camps and children's awareness programs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign last month.

PM Modi had appealed to the people to hoist the tricolor at their respective homes on the occasion of completion of 75th year of India's independence.

The motive behind this is to inculcate the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of freedom with the spirit of public participation.

According to the Ministry of Culture, states, union territories and ministries are participating enthusiastically in the campaign.

To show the patriotism and unity of the country, many programs related to the people will also be organized at various places related to the freedom struggle.

The Government of India has taken several steps to ensure the supply of flags across India.

All post offices in the country have started selling flags from August 1, 2022.

Apart from this, the state governments have also entered into several agreements for the supply and sale of flags.

The government has also tied up with several e-commerce websites for the supply of flags.

The initiative of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was launched by PM Modi on March 12, 2021 to celebrate 75 glorious years of India's independence.
