At least 12 people lost their lives in the traffic accident that happened at 5:40 this morning on the A4 highway in the direction of Zagreb.

The fire chief said the scene was "like watching a horror movie".

"It was scary.

It's like watching horror movies.

We got a call around 5:50 in the morning.

We took out the dead, there were more than 10 of them.

The bus crashed into the canal and the entire front part of the bus was severely damaged," declared Ivan Ivançan, commander of the fire department in Breznički Hum, whose crew includes four firefighting vehicles.

He adds that the bus looked like it had collided with a wall,

"One driver flew through the windshield and the other was on the bus.

I have not experienced something like this since I was a firefighter and I am 60 years old", said Ivançan.

According to him, there were many ambulances, firefighters and police at the scene of the accident.

“After the accident, more members of our DVD team came to the scene.

It was horrible.

We did everything we could to get the victims and the victims out," he declared.

Otherwise, the accident victims were pilgrims who were going to Medjugorje, while 18 of them are in a more serious condition.
