New Delhi :

Congress protest: Congress is

protesting

today against unemployment and price rise .

During the protest, the police today detained Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other Congress leaders from outside the party headquarters in Delhi.

Like other party leaders, Priyanka, wearing a black dress as a symbol of protest, earlier climbed the barricades and reached a place and staged a dharna.

Later the police took them away from this place.

Priyanka's brother and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi was also detained by the police shortly before this.

Before the proposed march to Rashtrapati Bhavan and the gherao of PM House, Congress MPs led by party chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament.

Protesting the alleged misuse of investigative agencies by the government, they created a ruckus which led to adjournment of the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House.

A statement issued by the party said that its Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will participate in the 'Chalo Rashtrapati Bhavan' march from Parliament.

Congress Working Committee members and other senior leaders planned to participate in the "PM House Gherao" but police barricaded key places, thwarting the plan citing security.

Not only this, the administration imposed prohibitory orders to ban large gatherings in some parts of Delhi before the Congress march.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the press conference, said that in the current era, we are witnessing the death of democracy, before starting a nationwide ruckus on inflation and unemployment.

He said that whatever India had built almost a century ago with bricks and stones, it is being destroyed in front of your eyes.

He said that anyone who stands against the idea of dictatorship is targeted, thrown in jail, arrested and beaten up.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that inflation has increased beyond the limit, the government will have to do something.

We are agitating for this only.
