On August 5, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to our country Milan Lajcak.

APA reports that Ambassador Milan Laychak presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the head of state talked with the ambassador.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia and emphasized the contribution of mutual visits to the expansion of our cooperation.

The head of state noted the need to define new areas of cooperation and expressed hope that the previously discussed issues would be implemented.

Touching on economic relations, President Ilham Aliyev said that there is a good potential for deepening cooperation and mutual trade in this field, as well as expanding the activities of Azerbaijani and Slovak companies in our countries.

At the same time, the head of state noted the interest of Slovak companies in participating in the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in our territories freed from occupation.

President Ilham Aliyev also emphasized Slovakia's support for the Azerbaijan-EU partnership.

Noting that the political relations between our countries are quite active, Ambassador Milan Lajchak said that the economic relations are expanding and he will spare no effort to further strengthen our relations.
