The epidemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) 31967

This is the first such announcement by the North Korean authorities since the outbreak of the Covid epidemic in the economically isolated country.

North Korea's suspected new 'fever' cases are below 200

Pyongyang has never before released information on how many people in the country have tested positive for Covid, but authorities have said about 4.77 million people with the fever have been fully cured since the end of April and 74 have died.

According to authorities, no new cases have been reported in North Korea since July 30.

Instead of declaring victory over COVID-19 or an end to the infection situation, North Korea said that "the anti-epidemic situation has entered a certain state of stability."

The country said it will "redouble efforts to maintain excellent implementation of anti-epidemic state policies and measures, and comprehensively work to further strengthen its anti-epidemic system."

Such actions by the authorities will include strengthening the surveillance of new sub-variants of COVID-19 and the imposition of measures that will quickly mobilize medical personnel in cases of emergency, according to the KCTA.
