The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, stated that the Association was never discussed in Brussels.

According to him, this topic is discussed more in the media.

Bislimi told about the only case when they discussed this topic with the EU Special Representative for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak.

"The association was only mentioned in my one-on-one meetings with Mr. Lajcak, when I objected to the fact that Brussels very easily speaks about the need to create the Association, but does not speak about Serbia's non-respect of agreements," Bislimi said. for RTK.

He indicated that the first agreement on the Association was signed in 2013, then the second in 2015, but the agreement on Integrated Border Management was signed in 2011.

"If in Brussels, the agreements have never been ranked in terms of importance, then why is the topic of Association and not the topic of Integrated Border Management", asked Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, giving an answer.

"Lajcak's answer is that 'you deal with Kosovo and declare yourself in Kosovo.

We declare ourselves because the media ask us questions, and the media in Kosovo are more interested in this than the meetings in Brussels", says Bislimi.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, there can be no compromise until mutual recognition.

During the interview, Bislimi quoted Borrell, the head of the EU for EU Foreign and Security Policy, about what he wrote in the first request.

"Spending a year dealing with issues of the past, instead of dealing with the big picture and our future, I think is more than enough," Borrell wrote, Bislim quoted as saying that he might not be an adequate translation.

He said that this means that the time has come to stop dealing with past issues, but with the future, the big landscape, that is, the comprehensive agreement.
