It is in our interest that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not succeed in his ambitions in Ukraine.

APA reports that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this at a youth camp on the Norwegian island of Utoya.

"A world where Putin gets what he wants by military force is a very dangerous world for us.

If Russia wins this war, he (Vladimir Putin) will prove that violence works.

Then other neighboring countries can be the next (target)," Stoltenberg said.

NATO Secretary General noted that NATO has two tasks in this conflict: supporting Ukraine and preventing the conflict from turning into a full-scale war between NATO and Russia.

He added that NATO supports Ukraine's right to self-defense established by international law, and since Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, NATO, as well as its member countries, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Turkey, have helped Ukraine.

Stoltenberg stressed that at the Madrid summit held about a month ago, all NATO countries agreed to support Ukraine as much as necessary.
