New Delhi:

The Congress has decided to hold a nationwide protest on August 5 against inflation and wrong policies of the central government.

However, according to sources, the Delhi Police has not yet given permission to the Congress party for tomorrow's protest.

Will the Delhi Police Headquarters allow this demonstration or not?

The final decision on this will be taken by late evening.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has sought permission from Delhi Police to hold demonstrations at the Prime Minister's residence, Jantar Mantar, Vijay Chowk and many other places.

Apart from the demonstration in Delhi, the Congress is planning to hold demonstrations at all districts and block levels as well.

However, Delhi Police has not yet given its permission.

Delhi Police says that in view of August 15 in New Delhi district, Section-144 has been imposed till about 22nd and no demonstration is allowed here at present.

Let us inform that the road outside the headquarters of the Congress party was blocked for some time on Wednesday evening.

Congress opposed this and accused the central government.

Here, the police said that barricades were put up to avoid any untoward situation.

Also the police force was deputed.

The action was taken soon after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) temporarily sealed the offices of the Young Indian (YI) at the Congress-owned National Herald office in Delhi as part of a money laundering probe.

Here, Congress leaders said that they will protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Friday regarding rising inflation in the country.

Veteran party leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, "It is an attempt to intimidate. If you keep intimidating people like this, then revolt is bound to happen."
