Azadi ka amrit mahotsav: There is a festive atmosphere in the whole country on the elixir of freedom.

Programs are being organized across the country on the 75th anniversary of independence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put 'tricolor' on the 'display' (DP) picture of his social media account and urged people to do the same.

Following this request of the PM, so far a large number of people have put the tricolor in their DP.

Under the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign, Prime Minister (PM Narendra Modi) has appealed to all the people to hoist the national flag in their homes or establishments from 13 to 15 August.

To make the tricolor available to the people, the sale of tricolor has also been started in the post offices.

This is the first time that the tricolor is being sold from post offices in the country.

However, due to the huge 'demand' of the tricolor, many cities are struggling with its shortage.

A shopkeeper from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala told that there is a huge demand for the national flag before 15th August and we are trying to meet the increased demand for the tricolor.

A shopkeeper in Bengaluru city of Karnataka admitted that the demand for the national flag has increased significantly after PM Modi announced the 'Har Ghar Tricolor' campaign.

Significantly, on the elixir of independence, the central government has made a big change in the flag code, under which the tricolor will now be allowed to be hoisted both day and night.

Also, now polyester and machine made national flag can also be used.

Under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', the government is going to start the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' program from August 13 to 15, in view of which this step has come to the fore.

In a letter to the secretaries of all central ministries and departments, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said that the display, hoisting and use of the Indian National Flag comes under the Flag Code of India, 2002 and the Prevention of Insults to National Pride Act, 1971. Earlier, The tricolor was allowed to be hoisted only from sunrise to sunset.
