If the next prime minister is also a member of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), it will be the first time that progressives cover all key positions in Serbia.

And this is not only about political positions, but also about those that should have non-partisan personalities.

Bypassing the law, Aleksandar Vuić's SNS appointed its own man to the post of director of the Security Information Agency and the Corruption Prevention Agency, as well as to the post of governor of the National Bank of Serbia.

Since coming to power, progressives have taken little by little the main levers of power in the Serbian state, reports

nova.rs.

However, only now and formally they can have all SNS members in the most important places of the country.

Although the party of the Serbian president won the most votes in the 2012 elections, the socialist Ivica Dacic became prime minister, while Tomislav Nikolic, who was then elected president, left the ranks of the progressives.

He held that position until 2017.

Then he was replaced by Aleksandar Vučić, but Ana Brnabić, who was non-partisan at the time, was elected prime minister.

At the time Brnabić joined the SNS, the mayor of Belgrade was Zoran Radojicic, also a non-party figure.

By electing Vladimir Orlić as Speaker of the Assembly and Aleksandar Shapič as Mayor of Belgrade, SNS can complete the most important levers of power in Serbia.

Of course, provided that someone from the ranks of the progressives comes to the post of prime minister.

In this context, Ana Brnabić and Milosh Vučević are mentioned, while the biggest favorite was Sinisha Mali, but Aleksandar Vučić said that it still needs to be proven.

In addition, it should be added that the prime minister of Vojvodina, Igor Mirovic, is also an official of the SNS, as well as the mayors of the largest cities in Serbia - Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Nis... from the same party.

Although all this is not small, SNS had a much bigger appetite.

Thus, by the decision of the Government, Bratislav Gashiq, SNS official, has been appointed to the position of director of the Security Information Agency.

BIA law normally prohibits a member of the agency from being a member of a political party, but progressives have found a way around that hurdle.

Gashiq froze his membership in the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and the position in the leadership of that party.

Although the public was outraged by the fraud and the clear abuse of the law, there is no institution in Serbia that could have prevented it.

Member of SNS in the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption

Similarly, the progressives resolved the issue of the election of the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (then the Agency for the Fight against Corruption).

It is an independent body that controls the wealth of state officials, financial reports of parties, decides on conflicts of interest and much more.

The Director of the Agency may not be a member of a political party.

However, Dragan Sikimić was elected, who was not only a member, but also registered as a financier of SNS.

He was also a member of the Working Body of the Republican Electoral Commission for the Municipality of Zemun and was elected to that position on the proposal of the progressives.

Although the then Board of the Agency claimed that Sikimiqi was not a member of the party when the competition was announced, the newspaper "Danas" announced that he was deleted from the membership of SNS on January 17, 2018, ie.

was elected director of the Agency.

During all this time, Dragan Sikimić has avoided answering the questions of journalists, so there was no answer to the question of whether he left the ranks of the progressives at the time of his election as the director of the Agency.

SNS official in the post of governor

And in 2012, another SNS official – Jorgovanka Tabaković – came to head the National Bank of Serbia (NBS).

At the time she was nominated for that post, she was the vice president of the Progressive Party.

Although the NBS Law states that the governor cannot hold office in a political party, this did not prevent then-president Tomislav Nikolic from nominating Tabakovic for the position.

She did not leave the party, did not even resign from the party post, but simply froze it.

The media reported that the governor was present at the SNS central leadership meeting in 2017, where it was decided that Aleksandar Vučić was the party's candidate for president.

She then allegedly gave a speech, along with other party officials.

She never explained her presence at that meeting.

Apart from the public, no one has asked him to resign.
