We were able to analyze a huge amount of information in the short time we had.

The gas supply situation is serious, not to say critical.

This was stated at a briefing by the Acting Minister of Energy, Rosen Hristov

Rosen Hristov has a master's degree in international economic relations from the University of California.

"We are short of the agreed quantities until the end of the year. We have agreed deliveries until the end of September. The notorious agreed 7 tankers - are not agreed, but we are at the level of an offer that includes deliveries of 3 tankers this year and an option for another 4 next year he added.

According to him, unloading slots for these tankers are not secured at the gas terminals, which means that a way must be found - by purchasing through third parties free unloading slots, which, according to him, will increase the price of delivered gas.

"The price of gas from Azerbaijan, which was announced to be up to 3-4 times lower, for the last few days is more expensive by 2/3 of the agreed quantities", added the caretaker minister.

"There is a serious financial crisis in "Bulgargaz" - the company's inability to pay even with these agreed quantities," he also said and pointed out that a tender is being prepared for the supply of liquefied gas to "satisfy the needs of the country until the end of the year and until the end of the heating season".
