 Immediately after the arrival of

American leader

Nancy Pelosi in

Taiwan  , angry

China

has started a counterattack.

China considers self-governing Taiwan as its part.

Minutes after Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan, China announced a live-fire military drill by encircling Taiwan and imposed economic sanctions on Taiwan.

Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan has also become a major headache for Chinese President

Xi Jinping

as it comes shortly before a meeting to elect the Communist Party's leadership twice in a decade.

The crisis has come on Xi Jinping to maintain his strong image.

On the other hand, to save the already collapsing economy, China cannot even spoil the relationship with America.

According to Bloomberg, these are some of the ways in which China is or can counterattack on Taiwan.

1. Missile Test, Drill Around Taiwan

China has announced live-fire military drills from Tuesday to Sunday in 6 areas around Taiwan.

Some of these areas violate Taiwan's maritime border.

This will also affect Taiwan's air traffic and the movement of ships because the Taiwan Strait is one of the busiest trade routes in the world.

2. Threats from Warplanes

Soon after Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan, China sent 21 warplanes to Taiwan's southwestern air defense identification zone.

Till date, the maximum number of warplanes sent by China has been 56.

China can do more than this.

According to the Global Times newspaper, China's army can target Taiwanese military bases.

3. Sand, Fish and Technique

Even before Pelosi landed in Taiwan, China halted food imports from at least 100 Taiwanese suppliers.

On Wednesday, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce also stopped the export of Chinese sand to Taiwan.

Without giving any reason, Chinese customs officials banned the import of some fish and fruits from Taiwan.

Along with this, Chinese organizations, companies and people were banned from dealing with Taiwanese companies on Wednesday.

China is Taiwan's largest trade partner.

Last year, China-Taiwan bilateral trade stood at $328.3 billion.

This gives China a strategic edge.

But China will need Taiwanese semiconductors.

4. Criminalizing Separatists

China has said that it will hold Taiwan's separatists accountable and give them criminal punishment.

5. Diplomatic Opposition

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Shi Feng summoned US Ambassador Nicholas Burns on Tuesday and lashed out at Pelosi's visit.

China can recall its ambassador Qin Gang from America.

In the past, China had withdrawn its ambassador from Lithuania on the issue of Taiwan.

In 1995, China withdrew its ambassador from the US, Li Daoyu, when the then President of Taiwan, Li, visited the US.

6. Cyber Attacks

Taiwan faced cyber attacks late on Tuesday night.

The President's Office said that he had trouble for about 20 minutes, which was 200 times more than normal.

7. China can take possession of an island

China's most provocative action would be to annex any outlying island of Taiwan.

Although this is unlikely to happen, China has bombed Taiwan's Kinmen Island at the beginning of the Cold War.
