Google has released data that is somewhat devastating when it comes to the internet search giant.

Namely, according to the analysis, close to 40 percent of Generation Z decide to search the Internet through popular applications TikTok and Instagram, compared to searching on Google Search and maps.

As reported by TechCrunch, Google CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized that he is aware that the TikTok format is changing the way young people search the Internet and added that Google wants to keep up with global trends.

An internal study and company statistics show that nearly 40 percent of young people, when looking for a place where they plan to eat lunch, do not go to Google Maps or do not search, but go to TikTok or Instagram.

Google is planning some changes, which should attract a younger audience, and this includes the ability for the user to move the camera in an area and get a better view of the objects available in a wider scene.

There have already been reports that TikTok is increasingly becoming a threat to Google, especially when it comes to the company's YouTube video service.

TikTok is the fastest growing app in the social networking segment and has experienced a real expansion in recent years.

TikTok's ad revenue is expected to surpass YouTube by 2024.
