American billionaire Elon Musk's company, SpaceX, has launched thousands of satellites into orbit, and many people claim to have seen them in the sky.

The launch is part of the Starlink project, which aims to increase internet speed around the world, Telegrafi reports.

Internet services are accessible thanks to the large network of satellites orbiting the Earth.

And this is very important for those who live in the isolated parts of our planet.

Lucinda King from the University of Portsmouth, has stated that even in Great Britain there are people who need such an Internet.

As part of the Starlink project, 3,000 satellites have been launched since 2018.

The head of Pocket Link, the portal dedicated to technology, Chris Hall considers that 10 to 12 thousand satellites will be needed in the end.

He even emphasized that this will break down all the barriers to fast internet access.

Unlike other companies that provide basic internet services, Starlink is not free.

In the UK, the monthly prepayment is £89 ($99).

The required satellite dish and router cost £529 ($549).

As the BBC reports, 96 percent of Britons and 90 percent of those in the EU and the US have access to fast internet.

Starlink has 400 thousand users in 36 countries, mainly in North America, Europe and Australia.

The aim is to expand the services in Africa, ie in South Africa and Asia.

Chris Hall has estimated that Starlink will have an important role in connecting schools and ambulances.
