US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan does not contradict Washington's commitment to China's territorial integrity.

According to information reported by APA with reference to RenTV, John Kirby, coordinator of strategic communications of the White House's National Security Council, said this.

He stressed that Washington is monitoring the speaker's visit and has taken necessary measures to ensure Pelosi's safety.

"Let me be clear: the speaker's visit is fully consistent with our long-standing China policy.

We have made it clear that there is no change in our one China policy," Kirby said.

According to him, Washington is against a unilateral change of the status quo in the situation related to Taiwan.

Kirby said that we did not support the independence of Taiwan.

He emphasized that we expect a peaceful solution to the differences of opinion on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
