The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has announced that he will go to Brussels for a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, which is unofficially scheduled for August 18, but he says that he does not expect anything from the talks with Kurti.

Commenting on the events of July 30, the Serbian president said that "we have spent two difficult days and I am afraid that we will spend many more difficult days".

The Serbian president is even claiming that it is others who want to exploit the war in Ukraine, while he and his subordinates have been threatened with war in recent days.

"The essence of the problem is that some in the region think that when there is general hysteria because of the war in Ukraine, they can realize their interests," Vucic told RTS and added that we were one step away from disaster, Telegrafi reports.

He mentioned that the Serbs from Kosovo did not want to remove the barricades and that he did everything he could to maintain peace.

Vuçiqi says that on August 18 he will go to Brussels for a meeting with Kurti, although he does not expect anything from that meeting, as he says, he does not know what can be discussed with Kurti.

"I will go to Brussels, it is not difficult for me.

I don't expect anything.

Anyone who thinks it's possible to keep the peace with Kurt, I think is very wrong.

I know who I am dealing with", said Vucic.

After the recent developments in the north of Kosovo, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, has invited Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Aleksandar Vucic to a meeting in Brussels.

This was confirmed for the Telegraph by the spokesperson of the EU, Peter Stano, while adding that the EU is monitoring the situation in the north of Kosovo with concern.

A day after Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that he is ready to meet with the president of Serbia, confirmation came from his cabinet that such a thing could happen this month.

The Prime Minister's Office says that Prime Minister Kurti has always been ready for dialogue, while they accuse Serbia of rejecting dialogue.

"As you know, the meeting scheduled to be held on July 19 failed because official Belgrade refused to take place, demanding that such a meeting be postponed for more than a month.

Prime Minister Kurti has consistently expressed his readiness for the next well-prepared meeting and for bilateral issues", Përparim Kryeziu - spokesman for the Government of Kosovo - told the Telegraph.

However, he says that a possible meeting in Brussels between Kurti and Vucic could be held at the end of this month.

"We are in constant communication with the European Union and if there will be another meeting, it is expected to take place in the third week of this month", said Kryeziu.
