After the numerous misinformation being spread by officials of the Government of Serbia, the Kosovo Police has informed the public and the citizens that all its police actions are undertaken based on legal authorizations, in the interest of all citizens and the country.

The reaction of the Kosovo Police comes as a denial to the false information that is circulating that the Kosovo Police, in the north of Mitrovica, is detaining and mistreating citizens while performing their police duties.

"The circulation of these false information is aimed at disinformation and creating insecurity among the citizens," says the Police's response, Telegrafi reports.

"We assure you that the Kosovo Police, through the performance of police duties and authorizations, has the sole purpose of preventing and fighting all types of crime and smuggling, maintaining order and public safety, as well as providing security to all citizens without distinction ".

It is further stated that "while carrying out police duties at a checkpoint in the north of Mitrovica, the border police officers were prevented from performing their duty by a person who was in a drunken state, who according to police procedures was escorted to the police station.

All actions against the same will be undertaken in cooperation and coordination with the justice bodies".

The Kosovo Police invites citizens not to fall prey to such inaccurate information.

Otherwise, today during the day the Kosovo Police has announced that police units from the North Regional Directorate of the Border Police have stopped a vehicle that was used to smuggle drugs.

According to the Police announcement, the stopped vehicle was an ambulance driven by DS, year of birth 1965 in Mitrovica and resident in Zveçan, Telegrafi reports.

Meanwhile, the Police has notified the prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica and in coordination with him, and the case has been handled by the police.

This was enough for the state officials in Serbia to give this case a different connotation and to misinform the public.

The Director of the Office for Kosovo in the Serbian Government, Petar Petkovic, said during the day that the ambulance driver, who he identified as Dejan Spahic, who was transporting infusions and medicines from Leposaviqi to North Mitrovica, "was kidnapped by special units" of the Police. of Kosovo.

During a press conference, Petkovic said that "around 14:00, a car of special units blocked the road of an ambulance.

Four armed policemen kidnapped the driver Dejan Spahiq, and a member of the special units got into the ambulance and traveled with him towards the south, to an unknown place".
