The Serbia-Kosovo conflict is latent and will remain so for a long time.

This is the opinion of the international observer Adela Pashkova.

On the air of "Your Day" on NOVA NEWS, she recalled that similar clashes and escalation of tension in the region also took place in September 2021, and the reason was again similar.

That is why what is happening on the border between Serbia and Kosovo at the moment has not surprised her.

The situation in Northern Kosovo began to calm down

"Perhaps this year it made a little stronger impression here because of the situation in Ukraine and the war there, which creates logical fears and apprehensions that the Balkans, which is known as a powder keg, may be shaken by another regional conflict.

I assume that this will not happen, that is, I do not expect it", Pashkova pointed out.

"We are not a party to the conflict - this should be said first of all," the observer believes.

At the same time, she expressed surprise at the lack of reaction from the Bulgarian authorities.

"Until now, I have not heard a reaction from Sofia on this topic. The fact is that there was no reaction."

According to her, until there is a treaty on mutual recognition between Serbia and Kosovo, there can be no peace around the border.

"The conflict can be used as a lever to put pressure on various countries, including the EU to accept candidate countries in order to avoid a more serious conflict", Adela Pashkova also admitted.
