After a two-year break due to the pandemic, Ohrid is again full of tourists.

Before the "Ilinden" holiday, all tourist facilities are occupied for the next ten days, and some extra beds are also required in private accommodations.

Most tourists come from Turkey and Serbia, but there are also many guests from the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, as well as from overseas countries.

They say that the prices are more expensive, but still they have decided to spend their holidays on the beaches of Ohrid.

It's very beautiful, in fact it's beautiful everywhere, it's like Izmir.

It's very expensive, even though our currency is higher, the prices are really very expensive, that's the only bad thing, said Bushra, a tourist from Turiqa.

The increase in prices in Ohrid is also confirmed by tourist workers.

However, they say, even though the season is late, there are tourists everywhere.

"In Ohrid, prices are relatively a bit more expensive compared to other surrounding countries.

Compared to Albania and Greece, they are a little more expensive, here the price is relatively low", said Sande, tourism worker.

From the Agency for the Promotion and Support of Tourism satisfied with the flow of foreign tourists.

The director of the agency, Ljupço Janevski, warns of charter flights from Israel, but also tourists from Brazil, Mexico and Portugal.

"The increase is within the expected framework of 30 to 50% of foreign tourists, it is slightly higher.

As we said, the charter lines are from the traditional countries – the Netherlands, Poland from Turkey, now we will also start from Israel.

We expect to have a larger number of tourists both from the region and from markets that we previously did not have a specific focus during the season.

Precisely in Ohrid, and in Skopje, we will be able to see Brazilian, Mexican, Portuguese tourists, tourists from Asian countries who are coming and going because they have already started to function", declared Lupço Janevski, director of the Agency for the Promotion and Support of Tourism .

According to the data of the State Statistics Agency, the number of tourists until May 2022 is 71,627, of which 31.6% are domestic tourists and 68.4% foreign tourists.
