For the month of August, rainfall will be scarce in Cuba,

estimated specialists from the Climate Surveillance Center of the Institute of Meteorology.

According to the researchers, the fact is due to the fact that

the notable influence of the North Atlantic Anticyclone on the country is maintained

, which means that the rains are relatively few due to their impact, due to the increase in the trade winds.

However, in their corresponding bulletin they reported that showers and electrical storms can be expected, especially during the afternoon and early hours of the night, associated with the passage of systems from the tropical zone (tropical waves and lows) and daytime heating.

Specialists also warned that cyclonic activity over Cuba begins to increase in August

.

But the frequency of hurricanes during this month is only half that of September.

They also warned that in this semester 17 tropical cyclones could form in the geographical area and nine could reach the category of hurricane.

They calculated that, despite its depletion, the models predict that this La Niña event may strengthen slightly and last for the rest of this year.

According to forecasts, approximately 194.9 millimeters of rain should fall in the west, 170.4 in the center and 127.6 in the east.

The maximum temperature, meanwhile, should range between 32.3-33.1 degrees Celsius in the west, 32.5-33.3 in the center and 32.6-33.4 in the east.
