Pink diamonds are considered extremely rare. The largest famous pink diamond, Daria–i–Noor weighing 185 carats, was discovered in India. Experts believe that such pink diamonds are cut from larger stones. But recently, a rare pink diamond has been discovered. This pink diamond, measuring 170 carats, was named Lulo Rose after the mine.
It is classified as a Type IIa diamond, meaning it has few or no impurities.

It is a joint venture between Australia's Lucapa Diamond Company and the Angola government. In 2017, Pink Star diamonds were auctioned in Hong Kong for £59 million, or approximately 2,600 million baht, as diamonds. The most expensive that has ever been sold.
