Flood damage after heavy rain in UAE
In a very rare incident, the
United Arab Emirates, UAE
received heavy rain on Thursday.
Due to this there was flood in many areas.
Several videos were posted on social media showing people being rescued in
Sharjah
and Fujairah areas.
These two cities have been the most affected.
Especially Fujeria has been affected because it has hilly terrain and valleys.

People living in Dubai and
Abu Dhabi
have reported less rain than these places.
Many people were seen taking shelter in hotels and other places.

Visuals on Twitter show cars parked on the road completely submerged under water in Fujeria.
This water seems to be entering the Kalba market.
Another video has surfaced in which the entrance of the city has been damaged due to floods.
Cars are seen moving on potholed roads.
Roads have been uprooted in many places.

According to the Khaleej Times, there
was a sudden flood due to rain in the eastern areas of the UAE. Due to this, houses have been damaged and many vehicles have been washed away.
There was also damage to the army vehicles which were deployed for the rescue of the people.
The Emirates Meteorological Department had already issued a warning of a damaging weather event.
It was said that it would be cloudy for the next few days.
The National said
emergency workers rescued some 900 people.
It has also been said that 3,897 people have been given temporary shelter in Sharjah and Fujeria and they will remain there until they are safe to return home.
The National Center of Meteorology says that due to changes in the environment, the incidence of heavy rains is increasing in the emirate.
