"In Olenivka, 53 people died and 75 were injured.

The criminal regime in Kiev deliberately destroyed Ukrainian militants in order to cover the traces of war crimes committed against the civilian population of Donbas and thus force others to continue hostilities and not to surrender the forces of the Donetsk People's Republic", the announcement states.

Allegations of a Ukrainian prison attack have not been confirmed.

Russian media have released footage they claim shows the aftermath of the attack.

Otherwise, the only UN members that recognize the independence of the DPR are Russia, Syria and North Korea.
