The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sanchez Perez, is coming on Sunday for a one-day official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.

It is expected that he will have meetings with Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and President Stevo Pendarovski in Skopje.

The visit to North Macedonia is part of Sanchez's tour of the countries of the Western Balkans, which also includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.

The Spanish prime minister's office said Sanchez will encourage all Balkan countries to implement the necessary reforms that will enable them to speed up their EU membership and convey to them that they can count on Madrid during the Spanish presidency with the Union in half. the second of 2023.

Sanchez aims to show the importance that Spain gives to bilateral political, economic and cultural relations with the countries of the Western Balkans, as well as support for the efforts they undertake to be part of the EU.
