Chapter 14: Transport policies

The EU transport laws are very strict and all must be harmonized with Macedonian laws, as a country seeking EU membership.

Safety, efficiency and environmental protection are part of this chapter that must be harmonized with EU laws.

Road, rail, water, air and combined transport must be systematized according to the new laws.

Technical security will be regulated according to the penalties imposed in each EU country.

Liberalization of the transport market of any kind must be ensured by law where monopolization is strictly prohibited.

These rules will apply to transport within and outside the country.

Otherwise, in addition to the EU chapters, North Macedonia has also signed a protocol with Bulgaria, which also contains some recommendations and obligations, which must be fulfilled by both countries, in order to avoid obstacles in North Macedonia's membership in BE./Telegraph/
