If the conflict in Ukraine spills over into Moldova and relations with Russia worsen, Chisinau will seek help from Bucharest.

APA reports that Moldovan President Maya Sandu said this while answering a question at a press conference after the meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

"We are worried.

We think about the most pessimistic scenarios.

Accordingly, we prepare for all scenarios.

If Russia tries to attack the Republic of Moldova, we will certainly ask for help," said the Moldovan head of state.

Klaus Iohannis, for his part, declared that Romania is the closest country to the Republic of Moldova: "We will not leave you alone, regardless of the scenario in which this unsuccessful war waged by Russia against Ukraine ends."
