On July 29, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Milan Lajcak.

According to the information given to APA by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his work.

He pointed out that there is great potential for the further expansion of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, and that the intensive political dialogue and high-level exchange of visits carried out over the past few years have made a positive contribution to cooperation.

Ambassador Milan Lajchak pointed out that Slovakia's cooperation with Azerbaijan at all levels is important, especially economic relations, and will try to expand its cooperation in various directions.

He emphasized that the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2023 is important.

The ambassador noted that the interest of Slovak companies in our country is increasing.

He said that importance is given to areas such as energy, transport, small and medium business development.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told the ambassador about the new situation in the region after the 44-day Patriotic War, the measures taken by us in connection with the implementation of the tripartite declarations, the behavior of the Armenian side that is not in line with the obligations assumed by it and creating difficulties in the direction of ensuring peace, the threat of landmines that are a direct threat to the lives of people in the liberated areas, The post reported on the restoration and construction works carried out during the conflict.

Slovakia welcomed the companies' interest in reconstruction works in the territories freed from occupation.

The ambassador once again emphasized that he will spare no efforts for the further development of relations between our countries.
