The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, is staying for a visit to Washington, from where he spoke about the meeting with Secretary Blinken and the messages that Washington conveyed to the leaders of Kosovo.

"The meeting with Secretary Blinken was excellent.

It is a celebration of our relations", said Kurti in an interview for the Voice of America.

He said that the US recognizes the territorial integrity of Kosovo, and Kosovo is ready for the normalization of relations with Serbia.

"We have never denied the importance of talks, but we have said that they should be principled talks where Kosovo should be a party and not a topic as it was in the past.

For the USA, Kosovo is a state with clear territorial integrity.

But, at the same time, we accept that relations with Serbia are not normal and we want good neighborly relations, therefore normalization of relations".

According to the Government, Blinken has a complete understanding with the Kosovar side that recognition should be at the center of the talks.

"And the normalization of relations is done through dialogue, which is done through a legally binding agreement focused on mutual recognition.

Here we have a complete understanding with Secretary Blinken who is an ally, partner and great friend of Kosovo".

Kurti says that Serbia is the one that is hindering the dialogue by delaying high-level meetings.

"I am always ready to travel to Brussels, for the next well-prepared meeting on bilateral issues, and such a meeting was planned to be held on July 19, but it was not held because official Belgrade rejected it and requested a postponement of over a month".

"So, they used to say that we have to wait since they didn't hold the elections.

Now it's been almost four months since they held the elections, again causing unreasonable delays that despite the demands of the USA and the EU, they don't want to distance themselves from the despotic President Putin and the official Kremlin and the war he caused against Ukraine.

They don't want to put sanctions on Moscow, so they don't constitute the Assembly, they don't form the Government, and they demand that the meetings planned with me in Brussels be moved on time".

Kurti said that Kosovo will remain constructive regarding the dialogue process.

"Kosovo has always been constructive, creative and committed with each of its officials, during the Brussels process.

Secretary Blinken requested that we continue to do so.

We will continue to be so, but it is Belgrade that is working against agreements and against good neighborly relations while we are constructive and Brussels has already registered this.

Instead of the meeting being held on July 19, it is now hoped that maybe it will be held at the end of August", Kurti said among other things./
