The protocol is a political document between the two governments on how they see the improvement of relations between the two countries, Professor Dragi Gjorgiev told "Telma".

"The commission works at its own pace and we know each other well and how much we can work.

Routine will continue to be a guide for our work, so that we don't feel too much pressure because of the Protocol", says the co-chairman from the Macedonian side in the joint Macedonian-Bulgarian Commission for Historical and Educational Affairs, Gjorgiev.

According to him, the interest is greater and the conditions are different.

"The protocol created a polarization in the Macedonian society and all this makes the position of the Commission different.

If you remember, in the first Protocol, with a very heavy and commanding rhetoric, Bulgarian politicians were told to finish this and that.

Those deadlines will always be set by politicians.

We have our principles.

Politicians work according to a different logic, and we scientists according to a different logic", he added.

Gjorgiev said that they have a responsibility to the opinion, but again primary for them is academic integrity.
