On July 28, a meeting was held at the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations (SCC) regarding the beginning of the month of Muharram.

APA reports with reference to the State Committee that the meeting was attended by the vice-chairmen of the Central Office and the heads of the regional departments.

Chairman of the State Committee, Mubariz Gurbanli, gave detailed information about the religious situation in the country, the daily issues, touched on the duties of the National Security Council in connection with the beginning of the month of Muharram, and said that the work activities of the Central Office and regional departments should be strengthened in this regard.

During the performance of religious ceremonies in mosques and other places of worship, Mubariz Gurbanli emphasized the importance of strict compliance with the requirements of the Fatwa issued by the Qazir Council of the Caucasian Muslims, and emphasized that the religious ceremonies should be organized in accordance with their essence and away from superstitious elements.

Stating that making a number of changes to the Law on "Freedom of Religious Beliefs" poses serious challenges, the Chairman of the Committee noted that the acceptance of the documents announced for the filling of vacant positions in places of worship (mosques) related to the Islamic religion has already been finalized and the interview will begin from August 2.

Mubariz Gurbanli clerics who under the guise of religion distort Islam, spread superstition, ignorance, make calls that will cause discord among people, and create sectarian discrimination bear a great responsibility against the theologians and religious communities.
