The prosecutor's office in Varna is investigating the smuggling of more than 10 kg of cocaine through Danube Bridge 2.



On July 24, in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge Vidin-Kalafat checkpoint, customs inspectors stopped a refrigerated truck traveling from France to Turkey for a thorough customs inspection, the prosecutor's office reports.



The driver declared that he was transporting dog food.



During the inspection, 10 packages wrapped with tape were found in a cavity between two pipes under the cabin spoiler.

When one of them was opened, a white powdery substance was found, which, in a field test, reacted positively to cocaine.



The total amount of seized narcotic substance is 10,712.09 grams.

Three drug dealers were arrested in Sofia



. The driver of the truck is a Turkish citizen and is accused of illegally transporting cocaine across the country's border.

By decree of the prosecutor, he was detained for up to 72 hours.



A request for a restraining order is pending in court

"custody" against the accused.

Actions on the investigation continue under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office - Vidin.
