Commenting on Ukrainian national television, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov emphasized the growing influence of the Hymars mobile artillery systems in countering the Russian invasion.

"Destroying the warehouses cuts off Russian logistics chains and prevents their ability to engage in active combat and massive shelling of our forces," Reznikov said.

The figures the minister presented have not yet been confirmed by independent sources, and Russia has yet to comment.

According to Reznikov, Ukrainian artillery made "precision" strikes on several bridges.

He did not elaborate further, but it is believed to be three bridges in the Russian-occupied Kherson region, where local occupation authorities said the missile systems had come under fire in the past week.

The defense minister also announced that Ukraine had received three Cheetah anti-aircraft gun systems, the first of a total of fifteen that Kyiv expects, along with several dozen Leopard tanks.

Russia says it has destroyed several Hymars systems, although Ukraine denies this.

In its latest comment on the subject as of today, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that an ammunition depot for the systems in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, western Ukraine, had been destroyed.

Ukrainian officials have repeatedly said the supply of weapons from the West is vital to their efforts on the battlefield, stressing the importance of the Hymars systems against Russian superiority in numbers and ammunition.

American missile systems have a wider range and high accuracy, unlike Soviet-era Ukrainian artillery.

Russia has criticized the United States for sending instructors to teach Ukrainian forces how to use the Hymars systems.

Russia, which invaded Ukraine on February 24, has so far managed to seize territory in the south of the country, while continuing artillery fire in the east.
