Azerbaijan has been warned about a new malicious program that secretly subscribes to paid services and captures personal information.

According to the information provided by Kaspersky to APA-Economics, such Trojans are considered one of the classic methods of extorting money from Android platform device users.

For several years now, they have been infiltrating the phones of ordinary users, imitating useful applications and secretly subscribing to paid services.

Often, these types of Trojans secretly charge users for various legitimate services, for which the cyber crooks receive a percentage.

However, sometimes these malicious programs connect users to the scammers' own "services".

The malware may request access to SMS or push notifications, through which confirmation codes for subscriptions can be intercepted.

Then the confirmation code is redirected to the subscription page that opens in an invisible window.

Malware can be distributed through Google Play under the guise of cheap and "useful" applications, such as video or photo editors, installing additional emojis, creating personal interface designs, health monitoring applications, creating menus, counting calories, etc.

However, scrolling through the payment page, one can see that access to the "service" is not a one-time payment, but a subscription with an automatic payment method.

"Even a useful program can be dangerous.

To avoid falling into this trap, it is always recommended to read the user agreement, no matter how long, before paying for any service.
