The Kosovo Police, based on the decision of the Government of June, which is about crossing the state border with a personal identification document issued by the authorities of Serbia, has made all the necessary police preparations in implementation of this decision.

According to the KP, as provided by the decision, from August 1, 2022, every person who appears to cross the state border with a personal identification document issued by the Serbian authorities, will be provided with an entry/exit document at the border crossing points. which temporarily replaces the use of such document.

The entry/exit document will create a basis for circulation in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and for use within state institutions.

"In order to implement the decision, to enable faster provision of entry/exit documents for citizens who need them, to avoid waiting and to enable easier border traffic, the Kosovo Police has made all the necessary police preparations, such as in terms of human resources, as well as technical and logistical ones", the announcement states.

The Kosovo Police says that according to its duty it will cooperate closely with the competent institutions in the interest of the implementation of the decision and of all citizens without distinction.

DEVICE WITH ENTRY-EXIT DOCUMENT

Every person who appears to cross the state border of the Republic of Kosovo from August 1, 2022 with a personal identification document issued by the authorities of Serbia, will be provided with an entry/exit document.

The entry/exit document will replace the personal identification document during entry and circulation in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, as well as for use in the state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.

The entry/exit document will be issued at all land and air border crossing points.

The entry/exit document is valid for ninety (90) days.

Persons under the age of 16, who do not have an identification document, are also provided with an entry/exit document, provided they have a birth certificate with a photo.

Otherwise, the Government of Kosovo last month made a decision to apply reciprocity to Serbia for identity cards.

According to the decision, Serbian citizens who enter Kosovo will be provided with a declaration sheet that temporarily replaces the use of official identification documents.

The declaration sheet will create a basis for circulation in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo and for use within state institutions.
