The President of Albania Ilir Meta stayed in Kosovo where he was received by the leaders of the state institutions.

Meta, through a post on Facebook, highly appreciated the welcome Prime Minister Kurti gave him, while saying that they share the same evaluations with him for regional cooperation, or the Open Balkans initiative.

The first of Albania has welcomed the initiatives for the realization of joint projects with special emphasis on the Durrës-Prishtina railway.

"It is vital to implement joint projects that bring our citizens even closer, such as the construction of the Durrës-Prishtina railway, with an impact on the economy of both countries and the region, which will unite us more and stop the demographic hemorrhage that has affected us ".

He said that more coordination is needed in foreign and regional policy, in accordance with the common goal of both countries for membership in the European Union.

"Regarding regional cooperation, we shared the same assessment in support of only comprehensive initiatives, such as the Berlin Process", the President of Albania wrote further.

Meta said that Kosovo has become an example of democracy, the fight against crime and corruption, the rule of law and Europeanization in the region.

"This is also appreciated by international reports, which deserves the liberalization of visas for its citizens as soon as possible", President Meta concludes the article./
