President Draupadi Murmu has become the 15th President of the country by defeating the opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha by a huge margin.

After this victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Draupadi Murmu's house to congratulate her.

He was accompanied by BJP President JP Nadda.

Both wished Draupadi Murmu the best.

The Prime Minister also congratulated Draupadi Murmu by tweeting.

He wrote, 'India has created history.

Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated President Draupadi Murmu by tweeting.

He said, "The election of NDA candidate Smt. Draupadi Murmu ji, coming from a very ordinary tribal family, is a moment of great pride for the whole country, I congratulate her. This victory will fulfill the resolve of Antyodaya and tribal society." A milestone in the direction of empowerment.

Current President Ram Nath Kovind also congratulated Draupadi Murmu.

Let us tell you that Draupadi Murmu crossed the 50 percent mark only after the third round.

However, another round of votes is yet to be counted.

The President of India is not only the head of state but also the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces and the first citizen of the country.

Draupadi is the second woman President of the country, before her Pratibha Patil has held the post of President of the country.

In the presidential election, 17 MPs cross-voted in favor of NDA's candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Draupadi Murmu's home state Odisha and her hometown started celebrating her victory even before the formal announcement of the results.

After the victory of Draupadi Murmu, a large number of people gathered outside the BJP headquarters in Delhi and are celebrating.


The term of the current President of the country, Ram Nath Kovind, will end on July 24 and the new President will take oath on July 25.
