Meerut (Uttar Pradesh):

The Meerut police on Thursday seized property worth one crore in Macheran, allegedly belonging to drug smuggler Haji Tasleem operating in western Uttar Pradesh.

Under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vivek Yadav, this attachment action was taken by the police station Lalkurti.

Before the attachment, the people around were informed about this action by making an announcement from the loudspeaker.

Yadav said that on December 22 last year, an FIR was registered against Tasleem, his wife Naseem Bano alias Hajjan, his sons Shahwaz alias Shabaz and Shadab, besides Nizamuddin alias Pony, and Danish under the Gangster Act at Railway Road Police Station.

He said that the matter is being investigated by the Inspector-in-Charge of Lalkurti Police Station, Meerut.

Yadav said that out of the above accused, Haji Taslim is lodged in jail while Shadab, Nizamuddin and Danish are on bail.

At the same time, Naseem Bano alias Hajjan and Shahbaz alias Shabaz are absconding.

A reward of five thousand rupees has been announced for the arrest of the absconding accused.

Yadav said that during the investigation it was revealed that Tasleem is involved in the crime of sale of narcotics on a very large scale and for a long time and has acquired a large amount of property from the money earned from the crime.


According to the ASP, the police first pasted the court notice under the Gangster Act on a plot of showdown, which is worth about one crore rupees, after which the action of seizure was taken.
