The price of electricity in the stock market is constantly increasing, due to the greater uncertainty in gas supply and high temperatures affecting the dryness of river waters.

For these reasons, "the further development of the situation is unpredictable and in the fall there may be a new price increase", said Stefan Tsach, spokesman for the Austrian energy company EVN.

Tsach emphasized that the increase in the price of electricity in the energy market has reached historic proportions.

Experts expected that during the summer the price could fall, although the high temperatures in Europe have also been reflected in the water level of the rivers, which has indirect consequences on the production of electricity and indirectly makes it difficult to transport coal.

Also, due to the hot weather, it is difficult to cool the electricity production facilities.

In Austria, due to the low water level of the rivers, the production of electricity in hydropower plants is decreasing.

The company "Ferbund" said that due to the low water level, the production of electricity at the hydropower plant is currently below average, but still within long-term levels.
