The court of Vlora has determined the security measure against Gjergji Priftuli, the citizen who hit two vacationers with a dinghy on the beach of Jala.

The court has ordered "house arrest" for the 37-year-old.

The session was directed by judge Hektor Sinanaj, while prosecutor Erida Visoci.

37-year-old Gjergji Priftuli was arrested by the police on July 17, a day after the dinghy he was driving hit the young couple Agustin Sefa and his fiancee, Era Gj, while they were relaxing on a deckchair on the bank of Jala.

The priest was not in the raft at all, at the moment when it collided with the deckchair of the two young men.

It was knocked down during laps at sea, but, according to the rule, dinghies must keep a rope (specific tool) in their hand and connected to the dinghy's key.

The moment the driver falls overboard, the switch is pulled and the rudder is turned off.

This rule was not followed by Gjergji Priftuli, and after his fall into the sea, the dinghy continued speeding, colliding with the deck chair on the shore where the couple was resting.

31-year-old Agustin Sefa is in a critical condition for his life, where he underwent two operations at the Trauma hospital, after damaging his internal organs.
