The Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo has announced that on Wednesday the temperatures will go up to 35 degrees Celsius.

Referring to the high temperatures, the Regional Police Directorate in Peja appealed to citizens to be careful, as fires spread very quickly and also cause general danger.

The police ask all citizens to be careful, to avoid lighting fires and to report or alert the authorities about any suspected person who may be involved in such cases of arson.

"The Kosovo Police, in addition to fulfilling its duties in maintaining order and public safety, managing and controlling road traffic and facilitating the movement of emigrants through the streets of the cities of the Regional Police Directorate in Pejë, during this period with increased activities in our country, has offered special attention and relevant resources to assist other state institutions/agencies in preventing, investigating and fighting fires", the announcement states.

The police say that they are taking ongoing legal measures against all those individuals who in one form or another endanger the lives or property of citizens, either intentionally or through carelessness in any form.

"We appeal to all citizens who frequent the mountainous areas of the region of Peja, and especially Bjeshko and Nemuna, to be maximally careful and refrain from any activity that may cause fires during use such as (matches, cigarettes, grills, fires in nature, etc.), it says at the end./Telegrafi/
