As part of the action to comply with the road traffic law, 9,725 motor vehicles have already been checked, the Ministry of the Interior informed.

12,751 drivers and passengers were checked.

To date, 2,324 slips and 753 acts have been drawn up for established administrative violations.

The focus of the campaign is to prevent driving of motor vehicles by drivers who have used alcohol, narcotic substances and/or their analogues, as well as driving of motor vehicles by unlicensed drivers.

Within the past day, a total of 35 drivers were found to have gotten behind the wheel after using alcohol - 21 of them drove after using alcohol from 0.5 to 1.2 per thousand, 14 - with more than 1.2 per 1000, and two refused a test.

17 drivers were caught driving under the influence of narcotic substances or their analogues, another eight, stopped for inspection, refused to be tested.
